Our Leadership Entrepreneurship Apprenticeship Program (LEAP) has been designed to prepare out of school youth for a productive community life with the objective to attain employment over an 18 month training and mentorship course. The main components of the course are:

  • Leadership and entrepreneurship
  • Marketable skill development
  • Post program support

We conducted a successful pilot in 2014 with a cohort of 120 out of school youth who had an average education level of Primary 7.  We are recruiting a new cohort  of 300 youth in 2015 with improved programming and a small loan program for the most successful of them.

What we will measure:

  • Youth livelihoods in terms of income generation and observational improvements to family and home
  • Marketable vocational or employability skills
  • Small business creation
  • Increased community participation and leadership
